InterMET Asia is the only dedicated weather and climate services event for the Asia, Africa and Pacific regions. It brings together the global weather and climate industry with public and private enterprises seeking to address the risks of extreme weather & climate change and to understand the potential opportunities.
The event includes an international exhibition of many of the major hydromet technology companies and providers of forecasting services. The target audience comprises operations directors, meteorological officers, forecasters, senior scientists and director-generals from national and international hydromet services, as well as key decision-makers from weather-affected enterprise, international development banks and the weather risk management (insurance) industry..
The international conference programme includes a diverse range if specialist sessions plus the 1-day Special Session on Public-Private Engagement sponsored by the World Bank and the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction & Recovery.
Official supporters include the World Bank, the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR), the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO), the Hydro-Meteorological Equipment Industry Association (HMEI), the Singapore National Environment Agency, Meteorology Service Singapore, plus International Society of Precision Agriculture (ISPA) and the Weather Risk Management Association (WRMA). InterMET Asia 2018 will be opened by the WMO Secretary-General, Petteri Taalas.
