C3S Energy Webinar 002 – Energy Models

The World Energy & Meteorology Council (WEMC) and the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), implemented by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts on behalf of the European Union, are launching a new series of webinars, aimed at sharing information and knowledge from the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) Energy project.

The second webinar in the series will focus on how we are developing energy models based on the C3S Climate Data Store products. These new models use climate variables to calculate energy indicators for electricity demand and generation from wind, solar PV and hydro power. The webinar will provide an overview of each model along with validation metrics.

Introduction:           Dr. Alberto Troccoli (5 min)

Energy models:       Electricity Demand: Dr. Laurent Dubus (15 min)

Solar PV Power: Dr. Yves-Marie Saint-Drenan (15 min)

Hydro Power and Wind Power: Dr. Laurent Dubus (15 min)

Q&A session:           Dr. Alberto Troccoli (10 min)

This webinar is beneficial for sectoral end users, policy-makers, climate scientists, climate students or those in related fields who want to acquire additional skills.
